Everything about going out with iEvent

Seven short chapters that cover the entire journey. Read it start to finish, or jump straight to the part you need.

1

Your account (or no account at all)

You never need an account just to look around, and you can even buy tickets as a guest. An account simply keeps everything in one place: your tickets, your saved events and the organizers you follow.

  1. 1 Sign up with your email and a password, or with one tap using your Google account
  2. 2 Add your name, phone, city and a profile photo under Account settings
  3. 3 Pick your interests in Account settings so your profile reflects what you love
  4. 4 Switch the whole site between Arabic and English anytime from the header

Checked out as a guest before signing up? Your tickets still reach your email, so nothing is lost.

2

Finding the right event

The whole directory is built so that a free evening never goes to waste. There are four ways in, and they all end at an event page.

  1. 1 Browse events shows everything live, filtered by city, category, date and price
  2. 2 Type in the search box and matching events appear as suggestions while you type
  3. 3 Trending on the home page shows what people are viewing right now
  4. 4 Every city has its own listing, from Baghdad to Erbil, Basra, Mosul, Najaf and Anbar

Events that already happened stay visible in gray at the end of the list, handy for checking out an organizer's track record.

3

Reading an event page like a pro

An event page answers every question before you ask it. A few details are worth knowing so nothing surprises you.

  1. 1 The date box shows an exact day, a range of days, just a month, or TBA when the organizer hasn't fixed it yet
  2. 2 Upcoming events show a live countdown, and the venue is pinned on a map below
  3. 3 A small note tells you when a page has been translated from the organizer's original language
  4. 4 The organizer card links to their profile, where you can follow them and see their other events

See a TBA date? Save the event so it's one tap away, and the date appears right here the moment the organizer sets it

4

Booking your ticket

Checkout is built to take less than a minute. What happens after depends on whether the event is free or paid.

  1. 1 Pick your ticket types and quantities, then check out with your account or as a guest
  2. 2 Free events confirm instantly, and your tickets are emailed on the spot
  3. 3 For paid events, transfer to the organizer's wallet or card shown at checkout and upload your receipt, and your tickets arrive as soon as the organizer confirms
  4. 4 Some events also let you reserve now and pay cash at the door

Your money goes straight to the organizer, never through iEvent. The event page shows their refund policy before you pay a single dinar.

5

Your tickets on event day

Once your order is confirmed, the ticket is yours in two places at once, so there is always a backup.

  1. 1 Tickets arrive by email as a PDF, one QR code per person
  2. 2 They also live under My tickets in your account, ready on your phone
  3. 3 At the door, show the QR and it's scanned once. That's it, you're in
  4. 4 Tap the calendar button on the event page to add it to your phone's calendar

Phone might die? Print the PDF. Paper QR codes scan just as well.

6

Follow, save and never miss out

The best events in your city shouldn't depend on luck. Two small habits keep you ahead of everyone.

  1. 1 Tap the heart on any event to save it, and find it later under Saved
  2. 2 Follow organizers you like from their profile page
  3. 3 Organizers you follow can reach you directly with news of their next event
  4. 4 Check an organizer's profile page anytime to see everything they have coming up

Likes also help other people: the more hearts an event gets, the higher it trends.

7

When plans change

Dates move and events get cancelled, in Iraq and everywhere else. What matters is that you're never the last to know.

  1. 1 The moment an organizer postpones or cancels, every ticket holder is emailed automatically
  2. 2 On a postponement your ticket stays valid for the new date, nothing to do
  3. 3 Refunds follow the organizer's policy shown on the event page, paid back the same way you paid
  4. 4 Need to reach the organizer? Their contact details are on their profile page

Something feels wrong with an event or organizer? Contact us and we'll look into it.

That's the whole journey

You know more than most people at the door now. Go find something worth leaving the house for.
